Most advice in this space comes from big strategy firms or stamped engineering shops. I work in between, as an operator. Much of the job is translation. I connect the technical side of making, capturing, or recycling the molecule with the commercial side of selling it, and with the incentives that decide whether it pays. Builders, developers, and investors all hit the same gap.

Monecule
Monecule is the advisory and development practice of Liam Bansen — a project-development and commercial leader with 14+ years taking first-of-a-kind clean-energy technology from pilot to commercial scale. My edge is working both sides of the molecule: the technical reality of making it and the commercial reality of selling it. In clean fuels I led North American development of commercial RNG and power-to-gas projects to FID-package — originating the market pipeline, securing feedstock and offtake agreements, building the engineering partnerships (including a 75 MW power-to-gas FEED with a global energy major), and running the techno-economic models that decide where a project actually pencils. I commissioned three first-of-a-kind demonstration plants along the way (TRL 5 to 8) and took 20% out of commercial-scale CAPEX through design and sourcing. That combined technical-commercial read is how I find the sweet spots — the markets, projects, and counterparties where the economics close — and the same pilot-to-commercial playbook now carries across carbon capture and recycled molecules, where much of my current work sits. Engagements range from standing up a technology company’s North American business to owner’s- and investor-side review of a deal. I work as the principal on every one, bringing in certified engineers for stamped scope and financing specialists where a deal needs them.
